Privacy Policy

Who we are

"Zoracle" ("we", "us") is an independent UK-based astrology service. Zoracle gives instant question-and-answer readings calculated from your birth chart, current transits, and (where relevant) astrocartography lines. The data controller for the information described below is Zoracle. Contact: hello@zoracle.app.

What we collect

When you ask for a reading, we collect:

Your email address (and first name, if you provide one).
Your birth date, birth time (or 12:00 if you don’t know it), and birth place.
The question you ask.
For a couples reading: the birth details (and optional first name) of the other person, which you provide. You confirm you have their permission to use them; we use these details only to calculate that one reading, and we never add that person to any mailing list.

When you sign up to the waitlist, we collect:

Your email address.

When you request a free reading promotion (such as the current love map), we collect:

Your email address (and first name, if you provide one).
Your birth date, birth time (or 12:00 if you don’t know it), and birth place.
Any specific places, questions, or topic inputs the promotion asks for.
Whether you opted in to be on the launch waitlist.

When you create an account on the full Zoracle platform (when it launches), we additionally store your saved birth chart (so you don’t have to re-enter it for each reading) and the questions and readings associated with your account.

We also receive standard request metadata from your browser (IP address, user-agent) when you load our site. We use it for security and basic abuse prevention only.

Why we collect it

Email: to send you the personalised reading you asked for, the occasional confirmation, and (if you opted in) one launch announcement.
Birth data and reading inputs: to calculate your astrological chart and reading. That’s the only thing it’s used for.
Questions and readings (when accounts are live): to deliver the answers you ask for and to keep your reading history in your account.

Legal basis

We process this data on the basis of your consent— you submitted the form because you wanted us to. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@zoracle.app and we’ll delete everything. Quality monitoring (see below) is carried out on the basis of legitimate interest— improving accuracy is core to what Zoracle is.

Quality monitoring

We may review questions and the readings our system produces, in order to improve accuracy and quality. When we do this, we look at the question and the answer without your identity attached— we don’t see your email or name alongside your question. Access is limited to Zoracle and never shared externally.

How long we keep it

Your reading and the birth data behind it: kept while you may want to retrieve it — and deleted on request at any time.
Signup and marketing emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record.
Any promotion or competition entries: up to 12 months after the promotion closes, then deleted.
Anonymised quality-monitoring extracts (question and answer, identity removed): kept as long as useful for accuracy work.

We review stored data at least annually and delete what no longer has a purpose. Email hello@zoracle.appto have your record wiped at any time — we action erasure requests within 30 days.

Where your data is stored

Our database is hosted by Supabase in the EU (eu-west-2). Our website is hosted by Vercel, which has servers in multiple regions including the United States. When data flows to a Vercel server outside the UK, it does so under Standard Contractual Clauses (the UK ICO’s recognised mechanism for international transfers). Email sending is done by Resend, which is EU-compliant.

Who we share it with

No-one outside our service. We don’t sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models. The operational sub-processors that handle tools we use to run the service:

Supabase — stores your record (database hosted in eu-west-2).
Resend — sends transactional email (auto-replies, your reading).
Vercel — hosts the website.
ImprovMX — forwards mail sent to hello@zoracle.app to our inbox.

These providers process data on our instructions only. They’re bound by their own privacy commitments and standard data-processing agreements.

Data breaches

If a breach happens that’s likely to affect your rights, we’ll notify the UK Information Commissioner’s Office within 72 hours and, where required, contact you directly with what happened, what we’re doing about it, and what you can do.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you.
Correct anything that’s wrong.
Have it deleted ("right to erasure").
Withdraw consent at any time.
Get a copy in a portable format.
Complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you think we’re mishandling your data.

To exercise any of these, email hello@zoracle.app. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Marketing email

When you submit a form, you can tick a box to receive occasional Zoracle emails. The box is unticked by default — we only email you if you tick it, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unticking it later, or unsubscribing, stops marketing email immediately.

The monthly note.If you say yes when the chat asks — and only then — we keep your email address together with your birth date, birth time (or 12:00 if you don’t know it) and birth place, so the note can be calculated from your own chart rather than being a generic horoscope. We ask you plainly before keeping anything, and getting a reading or asking for a copy of one by email never signs you up on its own. We keep those details for as long as you want the note. Unsubscribing — through the link on any note, at zoracle.app/unsubscribe, or by emailing hello@zoracle.app — deletes the whole record, birth details included, not just the mailing flag.

Cookies and local storage

We use essentialbrowser storage — enough to keep you signed in to the admin area (if you’re an admin) and to remember your draft when you’re composing an email. We don’t use third-party advertising scripts.

We do use analytics— Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — to understand which pages people visit and where they get stuck. You can decline these through the cookie banner.

The Zoracle Messenger. If you use the chat, the conversation is stored on your own deviceso it survives locking your phone or refreshing the page. That includes the birth details you give us and the questions you ask. It stays in your browser and is only sent to us when a reading is calculated — the question, the answer, and any follow-up questions you ask about it are then kept under Quality monitoring above, never with your name or email. You can clear it any time with “Start over” in the chat, or by clearing your browser data — that removes it completely. The chat also sets one strictly-necessary cookie of its own: a random identifier that lets us give each visitor their first reading free and apply fair daily limits. It contains no personal information and isn’t used for tracking or advertising.

Age — 18 and over only

Zoracle is for adults. We don’t provide readings to, or knowingly process birth data of, anyone under 18 — including a partner’s or anyone else’s details you might enter. Our forms check the dates you enter and reject under-18 birth dates without saving them. If you think we hold data about someone under 18, email hello@zoracle.app and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially, we’ll update the "Last updated" date at the top and email anyone on the waitlist before any change that affects them.
